In the year of 1900 today the Davis Cup competition was established. Though in the modern era for individual championships the four majors are being considered the most important and valuable tournaments, Davis Cup is The premier international team event in men’s Tennis. Run by the International Tennis Federation the tournament is contested between teams of players from competing countries in a knock-out format. The first leg was played between Great Britain and the United States. India’s best record in the game is three times runners up in 1966, 1974 and last in 1987.
