Today - February 10

Story time for February 10th.

In 1931 on the day of February 10th New Delhi became the capital city of India, also serves as National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The history of India’s capital city being shifted from one place to another and then to another is very interesting and carries a lot of significance in terms of the cultural and economical development this country has gone though. Before Delhi it was Calcutta (those days Kolikata) which was built by the British then which became the centre of all activities of East-India Company and the British government.

Before that it shifted with Moghals, the Tughlaks, the Persis and long before that with the great king Ashoka. All these great dynasties and emperors built and developed several cities which later became the centre of their kingdom and then became the capital of this country.

Jai Gurudev!

Love
