Being an electronics engineer or more precisely being involved with the semiconductor industry, it takes great pleasure to write about today’s story – February 6th.
In the history on electronics this was the beginning of one of the most important chapter. And all that gadgets that we use today – Mobile, IPOD, Notebooks – this was the day when their birth process was initiated.
Jack Kilby filed the first ever patent for an integrated circuit today in 1959. For his discovery of the first ever IC in 1958 when he was with Texas Instruments he won the Noble Prize in physics in 2000. The story is quite fascinating, so I do not want to give it up so easily.
