Today - February 5

Time for February 5’s story.

While the whole world was staring at the barrel of post-World War I traumas and aftershocks, few people were trying to their best to make a difference. Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, and D.W. Griffith started and launched the United Artists on 5th Feb, 1919.

The four legendary figures from the early days of Hollywood came up with this idea while they were traveling around the US selling Liberty Bonds to help the World War effect. They wanted to start their own company to better control their own work as well as their futures.

After dealing with early day’s struggles and going through many hands since then, right now a part of the Corporation is owned by Tom Cruise.

Jai Gurudev!

Love!
