Today - January 30

January 30.

Nearly Two Hundred years ago in 1820 on 30th January the coldest, driest and windiest continent of the earth, Antarctica was discovered by Edward Bransfield who was a master of the British Royal Navy. This is the southernmost continent, underlying the South Pole and surrounded by the Southern Ocean. About 98% of the whole continent is covered with ice, which averages at least 1.6 kilometers in thickness.

Today also marked the last public performance of The Beatles’ in 1969 on the roof of Apple Records in London. Formed in Liverpool in 1960 the band kept growing to become one of the most legendary and successful rock band. Even after forty years from the break up the band remains to be one of the best music bands ever in history with immense popularity.

Jai Gurudev!
Love!
