And now its turn for January 12… And as I see it’s got few stories to tell from women’s world!

In 1915 the United States House of Representatives rejects a proposal to give women the right to vote. Though the western countries were quite developed and advanced and had more liberal mindset than the rest of the world, the gender discrimination seemed to persist even then.
But things changed pretty soon. On the same day of 1932 Hattie W. Caraway became the first woman elected to be a United States Senate. In 1932 Caraway surprised Arkansas politicians by announcing that she would run for a full term in the upcoming election, joining a field already crowded with prominent candidates who had assumed she would step aside. But Caraway's diligent and capable attention to Senate responsibilities won the respect of her colleagues, encouraged advocates of wider public roles for women, and demonstrated that political skills were not the exclusive property of men.
Like that?!
Jai Gurudev!
Love!
