In 1964 the government of Italy asks for help to keep the Leaning Tower of Pisa from toppling over. Find about more about it and it is a very interesting read. Built around 850 years back it still stands tall though it leans!

In 1917 The Original Dixieland Jass Band records the first jazz record, for the Victor Talking Machine Company in New York.
Then in 2001 the Taliban destroyed two giant statues of Buddha in Bamyan, Afghanistan. It was one of the most shameful days in the history of the earth as even at the face of strong opposition from the rest of the world, the Talibans went ahead and destroyed the old heritage. But that was the beginning of their end.

In 1986 during People Power Revolution President Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines flees the nation after 20 years of rule; Corazon Aquino becomes the first Filipino woman president.

First in 1976 The National Constitution of Cuba was proclaimed.
Then in 2008 Cuba saw their popular and favorite leader Fidel Castro retired as the President of Cuba after nearly fifty years.
